Key Responsibilities
As an integral part of the project team, the Project Designer (Junior) is a developmental role that provides support to design team projects while actively learning and working through Bennett Design’s interior design project processes: Discover, Plan, Implement, Monitor, and Close, including Pure Design™—with the high level of detail and documentation that our firm is known for. While continuing to provide project support, this role will begin leading small projects and taking on more responsibility in executing contract management activities.
Project Work
-
Deliver team project goals through proficiency in the Discover, Plan, and Implement phases of the project methodology while becoming familiar with the Monitor and Close phases.

Assist with site verifications, working drawings, and drawing markups.

Complete project setup, ensuring AutoCAD drawings are site accurate.

Participate in initial concept development with the project team.

Assist with sourcing and ordering finishes, materials, and meeting with vendors.

Assist in the preparation of renderings and final plans.
Contract Management

Assist with change notices, instructions, and overall project work according to the Project Plan.

Assist with shop drawing reviews, deficiency reviews, reporting, and subcontractor coordination.

Support photo shoots as needed.
Quality Assurance

Develop Building Code compliance knowledge and apply it to various projects.

Work to confidently interpret regulations, procedures, plans, drawings, and specifications.

Learn principles of Risk Management as they relate to managing design projects.
Required Knowledge & Qualifications
-
Post-secondary diploma or degree in Interior Design from a recognized accredited college or university.

Studying for or has the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ).

Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario (ARIDO) membership in good standing.

Familiarity with building systems.

Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit, SketchUp/Vray, and Microsoft Office applications.

Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Adaptability to changing priorities, deadlines, and directions.

Exercises a professional approach in all communications.
