Job Type: Full-time (37.5 hours/week)
Work Model: This position requires a full-time on-site presence (5 days per week) at the client's workplace to support facilities operations, workplace planning, employee moves, construction activities, and stakeholder engagement.
Occasional travel to other client locations and active construction sites may be required.
Location: Two full-time on-site opportunities available: GTA, ON and Whitby, ON. Bennett Design head office is located in Uxbridge, ON.
Salary Range: $68,000 - $98,000 annually (Starting salary will be determined based on the successful candidate's qualifications, skills, relevant experience)

Bennett Design is seeking an experienced and client-focused Facilities Project Lead Designer to join our team. This unique role blends workplace design, facility planning, project management, move coordination, and client relationship management into one dynamic position.
As an embedded partner within a client's facilities team, you will lead workplace design and facility planning initiatives from concept through completion. You will act as a trusted advisor, overseeing workplace renovations, space planning, furniture programs, employee moves, consultant coordination, and construction administration while ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Project Leadership & Workplace Design
-
Lead workplace and interior design projects from discovery through implementation and closeout

Develop project plans, schedules, budgets, and deliverables
-
Lead client meetings, project kick-offs, workshops, and presentations
-
Conduct site assessments, field verifications, and workplace evaluations
-
Develop workplace strategies, concept designs, space plans, furniture layouts, and design presentations

Prepare and maintain AutoCAD drawing packages, construction documents, and project specifications
-
Coordinate activities with consultants, architects, engineers, contractors, and vendors
-
Review shop drawings and construction documentation
-
Perform construction administration, deficiency reviews, and project closeout activities
Furniture & Vendor Management
-
Develop furniture specifications and furniture reuse strategies
-
Source furniture, finishes, and workplace products
-
Obtain pricing and quotations from suppliers and manufacturers
-
Coordinate procurement activities and furniture installations
-
Manage workplace move projects and vendor schedules
-
Supervise contractors, furniture installers, and service providers
-
Ensure all vendor deliverables meet project requirements and timelines
Client Relationship Management

Build and maintain strong relationships with facility, real estate, and business stakeholders
-
Serve as the primary day-to-day client contact

Provide regular project updates and status reporting
-
Manage stakeholder expectations and resolve issues proactively
-
Deliver a high level of customer service throughout all phases of project delivery
Administration
-
Mentor and support junior and intermediate designers
-
Review project documentation for accuracy, quality, and completeness
-
Ensure compliance with the Ontario Building Code, accessibility requirements, and industry standards
-
Support continuous improvement initiatives, training, and knowledge sharing
-
Contribute to company standards, best practices, and design excellence
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & QUALIFICATIONS

Diploma or degree in Interior Design from an accredited college or university
-
NCIDQ certification is required
-
Active ARIDO membership is required
-
IDC membership is considered an asset
-
Minimum 5 years of experience in workplace design, facility planning, or interior design
-
Experience managing workplace renovations, employee moves, occupancy planning, and facility projects
-
Experience coordinating consultants, vendors, contractors, and construction activities
-
Corporate workplace experience is considered an asset
Skills/Abilities/Competencies

Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD
-
Working knowledge of Revit, SketchUp and/or V-Ray
-
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Comprehensive understanding of:
